Ellis And Rebels Move Up On Second Day Of Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate

AUBURN, Ala. -
Ole Miss junior Kyle Ellis shot a 2-under-par 70 in the second round of the Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate to help pull the Rebels up into third place on Saturday. With one round left to play, Ole Miss fired a 292 to sit at 16-over-par 592 with one round left to play.
Ellis is in a tie for ninth place in the individual standings with his 75-70--145. Freshman Larry Blatt and sophomore Jamie Howarth are in a tie for 15th place. Blatt turned in a 2-under-par 70 on Saturday, while Howarth shot a 72. Both players have a 147 heading into the third round.
Freshman Will Roebuck carded an 80 on Saturday to give him a 155 for the tourney. Roebuck is tied for 44th place. Sophomore David Marino rounded out the Rebel scorers with an 82, giving him a 157 heading into the final round of play. Marino is tied for 50th place.
The host Auburn Tigers are in a comfortable lead in the team standings with a 290-277--587. Charlotte is in second place with a 292-289--581.
Stuart Moore of Auburn is in the individual lead with a 72-64--135, while Ian Rochester of Memphis is in second place with a 70-71--141. Andrew Medley of Auburn is in third with a 70-73--143 after leading the first day.
Action will conclude at the 2006 Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate with Sunday's third and final round of play.
