Lady Rebel Netters Excel In The Classroom
June 30, 2006 OXFORD, Miss. -
Six members of the Ole Miss women's tennis team were named to the 2006 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll as announced by Commissioner Mike Slive.
Carlin Cochran, Nika Koukhartchouk, Mimi Renaudin, Ilona Somers, Preethi Subramanian and Virginia Tomatis were among 39 Ole Miss student-athletes to make the honor roll, which includes all spring sports.
Tomatis, a two-time All-SEC selection, earned the honor for the third year in a row. She graduated from the University of Mississippi this past May with a degree in Nutrition.
Somers made the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second time in her career. A rising senior Exercise Science major, Somers earned All-SEC honors this season and also posted a 3.8 grade point average.
Renaudin, a Pyschology major, also earned the honor for the second year in a row. She finished the spring with a 3.5 GPA.
Cochran, Koukhartchouk and Subramanian made the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the first time in their careers.
A Business major, Koukhartchouk posted a 3.52 GPA this past spring, and Subramanian registered a perfect 4.0 in Accounting.
The 2006 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2005 Summer, 2005 Fall and 2006 Spring terms.
